Reception to THE CAMPERS

THE CAMPERS has been out just under three weeks and I’m thrilled and grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response it’s been generating. I’ve hit the airwaves of local and regional radio stations, spoken with podcast hosts and visited bookshops around Melbourne and beyond to sign copies. As I’ve said in several interviews, the themes of the book— the housing crisis, the disparity between the haves and the have-nots — became more and more relevant as I was writing it, and people are responding to the book’s currency.

I’ve been gratified too, that reviewers and readers are also picking up on the humour and satire contained in the book. In a review published on the weekend in The Saturday Paper, Stephen Romei remarked that The Campers ‘has all the hallmarks of a television mini-series’. Here’s hoping!

I’ve included links below to some of the interviews and podcasts where I discuss the novel and the ideas behind it.
